AP Tower Fire Safety Training
In the hypothetical scenario described, with 700 employees and clients present at AP Tower, a sudden electrical malfunction occurred in the B3 basement, leading to a fire spreading to surrounding areas. The fire generated heavy smoke, toxic fumes, and rapidly increasing temperatures, extending to B2 and B1 basements. This situation caused dense smoke that obscured visibility throughout the basement levels, complicating firefighting, rescue operations, and asset movement efforts.
Immediately after detecting the fire, the fire safety team at AP Tower activated the fire alarm system and issued evacuation instructions. They swiftly guided everyone to evacuate using emergency exits and utilized firefighting equipment such as fire hoses, foam extinguishers, etc., to contain and extinguish the fire. They also provided initial first aid to those injured while awaiting the arrival of the fire department for further assistance.
After the drill, the Building Management and Safety Committee held a meeting to review and learn from the exercise. According to the assessment by the Safety Committee, the drill equipped AP Tower employees with basic knowledge of fire safety procedures, practiced firefighting skills using handheld fire extinguishers and fire hose reels, and simulated practical use of water spray valves. They also trained in rescue and evacuation skills.
